Why am I having involuntary jerks in my legs and arms?

For a little over a year, my feet/legs have started jerking. When stand up and try to slip on a pair of sandals, my leg just jerks and twitches-Now my hand has started doing that too. Just in typing this letter it has started twitching-it just jerks and moves, what could this possibly be?
