Can pressing too much l3 or r3 on on ps3 brake your og sticks?

Yeah as the title says I am playing fps games on my ps3 like mw2 and world at war when I need to sprint or when I need to melee the enemy I need to press og sticks I do it too much will it damage the sticks?Thanks.
